Her birth date was March 29, 1985, in Roswell New Mexican. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her birth name. Gerina Stevenson has Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). The mother of two is Mexican American as well as an American in the nationality. Ever since she was young she's always been keen on playing sports. Gerina began playing golf after she reached the age of 15. Gerina was a student at Goddard High School for her higher education in high school. As a high-school student she won the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. In addition to volleyball, she competed on a state-level. She was a student at the University of Texas in 2003. During her senior years she took home every single tournament she entered. Through her college years she was awarded an award called the Conference USA Player of The Year Award as well as The UTEP Female Sport Athelete Award.
